Getting Started
After activating your subscription, you'll find a one-time curl command in the account dashboard. Run it on your home server and the agent will configure the SSH tunnel automatically.
No. The agent establishes an outbound connection to our server - no router changes are required.
SmartHomeEntry works with any HTTP/HTTPS service running on your home server: Home Assistant, Homebridge, OpenHAB, Node-RED, and others.
Yes. We offer an official Docker image. Use docker run with the installation token - the agent configures itself automatically.
Yes, as long as you have a Pro or Business plan. Each system is a separate installation with a unique subdomain.
Security & Privacy
The tunnel is being configured. Wait a moment and refresh the account page. If the status hasn't changed after 5 minutes, please contact support.
Yes. All traffic is transmitted through an encrypted SSH tunnel. We do not store the contents of your home data - only connection metadata (agent IP, last heartbeat timestamp).
SSH-2 with Ed25519 keys. No password authentication - public keys only.
Troubleshooting
In the account dashboard, click 'Manage subscription'. You'll be redirected to the Stripe portal where you can cancel or change your plan.
Check the agent logs (journalctl -u smarthomeentry-agent). Common causes: loss of internet connectivity, a stopped systemd unit, a relay restart, or CG-NAT on the client's ISP. Restart the service (systemctl restart smarthomeentry-agent) - that usually fixes it. Contact us if the issue persists.
Remove the existing installation (sudo apt remove smarthomeentry-agent), generate a new token in the dashboard, and run the installation command again.
System logs: journalctl -u smarthomeentry-agent. Metrics (CPU, RAM) are visible in the account dashboard for Pro and Business plans.
